Some (Pretty Straight-forward) Tips for Better Sleep:
-
Caffeine is a stimulant. Avoid it 4-6 hours before bedtime.
-
Avoid heavy meals before sleeping. If you need a light snack, stay away from protein and stick to carbohydrates. Research shows that small snacks rich in carbohydrates may help sleep. And, of course, common sense shows that we are not supposed to be digesting while we’re sleeping. We’re supposed to be RESTING!
-
Try to unwind an hour before bedtime. Turn off the TV and the computer. Relax.
-
Make your bedroom your haven for sleep and other "bedroom activities" only. No TV, radio, eating, reading or working allowed!
